Certificate in Operating Systems
|
 |
Overview:
The Certificate in Operating Systems aims to expose participants to Windows based and Unix operating systems - the two major market product lines.
Both the more established Windows 95/98, and the more current W2000/XP are discussed in the course.
This certificate program encompasses system and network administration concepts, security issues, device driver programming and system and network programming skills for both operating systems. Such advanced programming concepts are not readily available, and are therefore especially valuable for Singapore's IT infrastructure.
The certificate combines two main tracks: Programming and Administration. Participants select modules which are compatible with their work requirements, interests and familiarity with operating system concepts. The programme is expected to be valuable to post-graduate computer science professionals, especially since device driver programming and advance administration concepts are very rarely incorporated in undergraduate programmes.
Furthermore, MentorTech believes that its certification program will help system administrators and programmers ride the new Linux wave.
Participants are required to for at least two modules lasting at least six days (36 hours) to qualify for the certificate.
